Send Me On My Way

Okay, so I'm at work, and I just listened to the song "Send Me On My Way" by Rusted Root and suddenly I am in the mood to write. No idea what about exactly, I just want to write.

So recently I have been presented with some things, not all of which are products of my own doing, but still. I have been presented with the repercussions of my mistakes as well as the repercussions of the 'mistakes' of someone very near and dear to me. These things cannot be take lightly, however, when does the tormenting become too much? at what point can we take a step back and just say, "You know what, I've paid enough, now it's time to move on"? Contrary to popular belief this is not a way to escape your problems or your mistakes, but rather a way to exist in spite of those things that you have done or things that have happened. I have been told that one cannot live successfully while constantly thinking about what they do not wish to do or who they do not wish to become and I am beginning to ponder this more and more; what do you think?

  1. Seems like I am the first person to comment on your blog. Go me!

It seems as if the past has a way of sneaking into your head even if you don't want it to. somethings are very tough to overcome and sometimes the time spent trying to recover feels like torment.
As for the torment being too much to handle and deciding to move on you must first determine what this near and dear person means to you. I obviously don't know the situation but itd be best to determine the importance of someone before saying the damage is too great. If a person means enough, there is no torment too great.
A better saying is that if you focus on something enough you are likely to be drawn towards it even if you don't want to be. To ignore who you don't want to be would be foolish. history is important because without it people would not learn from mistakes and they would repeat over and over again. my interpretation is that people can give you suggestions how to live life and how to view the world but no one uses your eyes so you need to focus on what you think living life is. Some think its partying, some think its being responsible, and the true balance comes from within. Don't focus on who not to be, just don't clletely forget...cause if you do either you're likely to become just that.
